Violin virtuoso Elizabeth Pitcairn has earned a stunning reputation as one of America’s most beloved soloists. Performing with many of the major orchestras in some of the most famous concert halls, Ms Pitcairn has traveled the globe playing on of the world’s most legendary instruments, the “Red Mendelssohn” Stradivarius violin of 1720. This instrument inspired the Academy Award-winning film, The Red Violin
In conjunction with our concert, Proctor’s Theater will be hosting two showings of The Red Violin on Thursday, March 26 at 12 noon and at 7 pm. Elizabeth Pitcairn will be present only at the 7 PM showing for a brief Question and Answer period and a demonstration of the instrument. Tickets can be purchased from Proctor’s Theater. The cost will be $9 adults and $6 seniors and students for the 12 noon showing and $9 for everyone at the 7 PM showing. Seating will be limited to 80 people so advance ticket sales are suggested.
