Amen<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Silent Prayer<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fumcschenectady.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Page-5-Image-5.png\"><\/p>\n<h3>Pastoral Prayer<\/h3>\n<p><em><br \/>\nLoving God, when life is like a hot sun beating down on us,<br \/>\nyou are shade that helps us breathe and recover.<br \/>\nLife has been like a hot sun beating down on us.<br \/>\nHelp us take this time to savor the rest and healing you offer.<br \/>\nWith many of our support systems disrupted,<br \/>\nand life as we knew it changed forever,<br \/>\nwe are still \u2013 often \u2013 overwhelmed.<br \/>\nGuide us into the shade where we can stop, and be.<br \/>\nWith grief that feels like it flows endlessly on,<br \/>\nand grief piled up on more grief,<br \/>\nwe worry that we can go no further.<br \/>\nHelp us hear you calling us by name,<br \/>\ninviting us to stop pushing beyond our capacities,<br \/>\nto connect with your Spirit,<br \/>\nand trust in you.<br \/>\nWhen the day continues on, and the shade moves with the angles,<br \/>\nremind us that we are allowed to keep on receiving the gift,<br \/>\nand nudge us to move to receive your shelter.<br \/>\nWhen we are ready, show us others in the shade with us,<br \/>\nremind us we aren&#8217;t alone,<br \/>\nand bless us with new life from new connections. Because of COVID, children will be given pre-packaged, bagged lunches. FUMC\u2019s week to help is July 19\u201423. Volunteers are needed for 2 different jobs:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>2 people are needed daily at the central library for \u00bd hour \u2013 11:00 to 11:30 \u2013 to hand out lunches. We will not be reading to or playing with the children.<\/li>\n<li>3 or 4 or more people are needed daily from 8:00\u201411:00, or any part of that time, to help pack lunches at the SiCM site at 83 9 Albany St.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fumcschenectady.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/Page-6-Image-7.png\"><br \/>\nWe hope that participating at SiCM will help us get an updated understanding of SiCM and a better feel for the community.
