Amen<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Silent Prayer<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/fumcschenectady.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/Page-4-Image-4-3.png\"><\/p>\n<h3>Pastoral Prayer<\/h3>\n<p><em><br \/>\nGod of words, and no words,<br \/>\nHumans fight about authority \u2013 who<br \/>\nhas it right and who has it wrong (and<br \/>\nhow they can prove it).<br \/>\nSometimes when someone is really<br \/>\ngreat at something, we assume they<br \/>\nknow more about everything. But they<br \/>\ndon&#8217;t.<br \/>\nSometimes when someone is really<br \/>\nsmart in one area, we assume they<br \/>\nknow about other areas too, but they<br \/>\ndon&#8217;t.<br \/>\nWe don&#8217;t know who to trust, or how to<br \/>\ndecide.<br \/>\nWe don&#8217;t know where authority lies.<br \/>\nAnd often we struggle to trust ourselves, and to trust our own sense of your wisdom.<br \/>\nBut you are with us anyway. And we have wisdom anyway.<br \/>\nGuide us towards you, and towards ourselves.<br \/>\nHelp us find our way to trust.<br \/>\nTo letting go of authority, and leaning into grace. Amen<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>The Lord&#8217;s Prayer<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Our Father (Creator) who art in heaven,<br \/>\nHallowed be thy name.<br \/>\nThy kingdom come.<br \/>\nThy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.<br \/>\nGive us this day our daily bread.<br \/>\nAnd forgive us our trespasses,<br \/>\nas we forgive those who trespass against us.<br \/>\nAnd lead us not into temptation,<br \/>\nbut deliver us from evil:<br \/>\nFor thine is the kingdom, and the power,<br \/>\nand the glory, for ever.
