The Intersectional Justice Committee has selected Howard Thurman\u2019s book, <em>Jesus and the Disinherited<\/em>. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his coworkers used to carry this book with them. They sought inspiration from it in the days leading to the Montgomery bus boycott; it helped shape the civil rights movement and change history.<br \/>\nWe gather at 10:00 am in Fellowship Hall and are often done by 11:30. Some folks have the opportunity to read the whole book while others may only have an opportunity to read a few chapters, but the conversation is always a lively exchange of ideas.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our next book discussion will be held on Saturday, May 13th.
