Book Discussion – Jesus and the Disinherited

Our next book discussion will be held on Saturday, May 13th. The Intersectional Justice Committee has selected Howard Thurman’s book, Jesus and the Disinherited. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his coworkers used to carry this book with them. They sought inspiration from it in the days leading to the Montgomery bus boycott; it helped shape the civil rights movement and change history.
We gather at 10:00 am in Fellowship Hall and are often done by 11:30. Some folks have the opportunity to read the whole book while others may only have an opportunity to read a few chapters, but the conversation is always a lively exchange of ideas.
